The Fidelity Little Chesster Challenger is a budget version of the Fidelity Chesster Challenger. Emphasis is on an entertaining chess partner. It is still capable of 345 phrases, but the board, the speaker and the computer hardware are all low budget components. The program is the same as the later models of the Fidelity Excellence but on slower hardware with a smaller opening book. It includes a genuine novice level suitable for beginners. (Reference - Computer Chess Reports 1991 Vol2 No 1) The main circuit board components are :- M50743SP - Single Chip cpu with 6502 architecture, 4KB ROM and 256 bytes RAM HY6116ALP - 2KB SRAM and the voice synthesizer chip.
