Die zwölfte Weltmeisterschaft im Mikrocomputerschach fand vom 31. Oktober bis zum 7. November 1993 im Weinfurtner's Garden-Hotel in München Schwabing, Bayern, Deutschland, statt. Die WMCCC 1993 wurde von der ICCA und den Herausgebern der deutschen Computerschachzeitschrift Computerschach und Spiele organisiert, die auch Hauptsponsor der Veranstaltung war.

Drei spezielle Maschinen spielten in der Herstellergruppe, wobei jede acht Partien mit jeder der beiden anderen spielte. Die Software-Gruppe war mit 28 Programmen, die an einem neunrundigen Schweizer Turnier teilnahmen, gut besucht.

Interaktive Partieanalyse

Am eigentlichen Turnier nahm nur ein Schachcomputer teil, der Saitek Sparc, mit einem Programm von D. und K. Spracklen.

In der Herstellergruppe konnte Mephisto mit seiner "Wundermaschine" erneut den Titel gewinnen. Bei der Wundermaschine handelte es sich um einen PC, verbaut in ein Mephisto München Holzbrett. Tasc trat mit einem auf 40 MHz getakteten R30 an, der mit 1 MB RAM ausgerüstet war und den Vorläufer des 1994 erschienenen R40 darstellt und Saitek mit dem Risc 2500 (z.T. getunt auf 28 MHz) an.
